Dear K families,

We've had another strong week of learning and growing as we charge toward the end of our year together!

In Letterland we reviewed r-influenced blends including -ar, -er, -ir, -or, -ore, -oar and -ur. We have covered a lot of vocabulary and word analysis with all of the aforementioned combinations. We have also continued onward with our LA centers.

In writing we completed a (ssshhh--top secret!) writing project involving adjectives.

In math we finished our last planned chapter, Unit 4 in the first-grade book. Our assessment will be conducted this week. Workbooks will be sent home,as the children will be using a different set of books next year. I would suggest availing your child of additional practice by having him/her complete the workbook before first grade.

Our state of the week was Rhode Island.

In science the children have continued to prepare their ocean creatures research projects. We are learning how to be effective communicators and work partners!

We had a wonderful time at Zootastic! Thanks again to Miss Laura and Miss Joanna (Luke's mom and Avery's grandmother) who ably accompanied us!

The PTO is selling school supply kits which will satisfy the back-to-school list for your children for first grade. All proceeds go to the PTO classroom start-up fund.

Have a great week! I know we will!
